Tethered Live View
I'd like to know if it's possible to have a live preview when doing tethered capture in Lightroom 4.3. This seems to be a basic function. Why look at the computer screen and use Lightroom to capture the photo but still use the camera's viewfinder. You are forced to go back and forth from the came. Tethered Live View See exactly what you are shooting right in real-time while tethering with Lightroom Classic's live view for Canon cameras. To turn Live View on, do the following: Connect a supported Canon camera to your computer and launch Lightroom Classic. Colin shows you how to tether a camera to Lightroom so that your photos appear directly on your screen while shooting. For 12 hours of Lightroom training htt.
I am using Nikon Camera Control Pro 2 with a Nikon D3s. I had the same problem with my D300, namely, when in live view and tethered to the computer, a wireless remote shutter release will not focus and fire the shot. Unplug the tether, the wireless release works flawlessly, or turn off live view. It’s “OK.” The frame rate of what you see in that live view window is a lot slower than I was expecting (check out the video below as see if you agree), and while the folks who have been waiting forever for this feature will probably be fine with it, it’s not a big advantage for what I shoot, and I think the slow frame rate would get on my nerves, so I’ll be skipping it for now, but.

Rob ErtExcellent, for the basic tethering I want to do this seems to work just fine, A great alternative and cash saver.
Ian BurfordThank you for the upgrade to Nikon's OEM Camera Control utility. I especially prefer your much larger live view window & histogram display..!
Patrick M. DennisondigiCamControl saved my bacon!!! Thank you for being there when I needed you. digiCamControl is truly awesome. Simple interface, great camera control, satisfied clients at my end. Thank you so much for being available to a fresh photography pro like me!! Well done!
Tom ElliottJust want to say that I LOVE this software !! I use an older Nikon D200 with a grip and while I can't tether into Lightroom, I can tether into Digicam control and I can turn it on and off, switch lenses and just keep going on my shoots and it never fails me smile emoticon, thank you so much, keep up the great work.
Doug WardThis is truly an amazing piece of software. designed by people who actually use it.
Darren HaighThanks a lot! Its just amazing.... and particularly because its free!
Linus KuThis is fantastic! I have it on my HTPC attached to a 50' plasma TV in my recroom / photo studio. With my D7000 attached to the PC via USB I can see the images on the big screen as I shoot. Very cool stuff!

Today Adobe released their March 2021 Lightroom CC and Lightroom Classic versions:
Two new Nikon related updates:
We are sharing an early preview of the Tethered Live View feature for Nikon cameras for you to test and try out. We’d love to hear your feedback as we develop and improve this feature for you. When active, the live view from the camera will appear in a re-sizeable window with the option to rotate the orientation. Feature focus control buttons will also appear in the tether bar when enabled by the camera and lens settings, including Auto-Focus. Support for Z-series camera coming soon.
New in Lightroom desktop and mobile: Lightroom desktop and mobile now provide a new profile to support Apple ProRaw images. These images will now be imported using the new profile by default. With this new support, the imported ProRaw images will better match the in-camera experience.
The latest Adobe CC subscription plan rates can be found here (see also this page). A free Lightroom CC trial is available on this page (no credit card required). More information on the different Lightroom versions is available here and here. The different Adobe Creative Cloud options are described here.
For Adobe alternatives, check the latest products from Topaz Labs, Skylum, Capture One, DxO, Franzis, and ON1.
